The winner of the 1st ever Detroin Lions Tickets giveaway is Robbie Robinson. Robbie & a friend get to go to the Dec. 11th game against Minnesota. Game time is 1:00pm. Robbie, and friend, will be in Section 101, Row 22 (if my memory is correct).
After collecting entries for almost two weeks, the drawing was last night, in the Lounge, at 10:00pm. The drawing was well attended! Look for Airway Lounge to do this again for other sporting events.
Update as of 11/18/11 Work has been progressing in the lounge. We have been painting over the green and blue paints, the outside deck areas have been enclosed for the winter season. That holds in the heat for those of you that need to be out there, and the outer shell has been plastic wrapped. Some new lights have been put in the lounge, but more are on the way. New lighting will go inthe sheltered deck area, also. It's happening!!
Changes are on the way!!! as of 9/22/11
We started 8 weeks ago with the addition of new tables and chairs for the deck. That has been wildly accepted, especially by the volleyball players, as the deck now stays crowded 6 nights a week. We also removed the railing between the two largest decks - really opening up the view of the volleyball and horseshoe areas. 4 weeks ago, we got rid of the huge old TV by the mens room, and we have added 4 large flat screens. Now, we are getting ready to really open up things in the lower lounge area - you wil eb surprised when you see the difference that chaneg will make - it is coming very soon!! There is also a plan in motion to make life easier for the smokers on the deck outside this winter. Again, very soon.
Lions and Tigers -- Oh My!!!!
With the installation of the flat screen TV's, Airway Lounge has started two great specials!!
When the Tigers are on TV, every time they hit a home run, you can buy a 2nd drink for half off the regular price -- for 10 minutes, or until the Tigers make an out!
When the Lions are on TV, the same special is available -- for 10 minutes. Also, it the Lions make a field goal, you can order your next drink for $1 off the regular price.
